Celebration of Life Illustrations

About Celebration of Life Illustrations

Illustrating a celebration of life involves capturing the joy, love, and memories shared during a memorial service or similar gathering that honors a loved one who has passed away. This visual legacy could be of happy moments, meaningful contributions, and heartfelt stories that celebrate the life of the departed. The Celebration of Life artwork is a remembrance for those who were present and for future generations to cherish. It is a touching tribute to one’s life and the impact they had.

“The visual tribute of my grandson’s life hangs in a place of honor in my home. Sometimes, it brings tears to my eyes, but most often, it brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart.”

The Process

Before the event:

During this tender time, clients describe the memorial/celebration of life and the agenda. We discuss an appropriate visual capture engagement during the storytelling/eulogy portion of the ceremony. We discuss how the visual can be shared and printed. In addition, we talk about how it is used for healing and remembering. An engagement timeframe and project fee and are agreed upon.

During the event:

The illustration work space (paper or projected iPad) is set up (usually 30 minutes) before the event begins. During the storytelling/eulogy, the illustrator captures the stories in real time, honoring the loved one. After the stories are done, the illustrator finishes the artwork on site or in studio (this will be determined before event) and shares them with those gathered.

After the event:

We check in with the client to see if any small changes need to be made to the illustrated stories. We make those changes and provide the artwork to the family. We are honored to create these visual tributes of a dear loved one, knowing it is a testament to the enduring power of love and memories shared.
